Yesterday I went to a panel discussion about being a CEO hosted by Birmingham Entrepreneur. One speaker said there are three distinct stages in being a CEO of a startup, and each requires a different skill set.
1) From roughly $0 to $2 million in revenue, you will be a worker.
2) From $2 million to $10 million in revenue, you will be a manager of workers.
3) Above $10 million in revenue, you will be a manager of managers.
